Traffic Traffic Traffic… in EGYPT.
Dear pedestrians,
Try to stay on the sidewalk
Do not cross the road when the traffic lights are green
Stop giving us fingers
Refrain from cursing any passing vehicle (especially early in the morning)
When crossing the road at a no crossing point – please walk quickly or RUN. Do not stop do not look back. Do not change your mind midway. Do not bend over to pick things up from the street.
If you are at fault – and do not apologize, at least do not blame others for it.
Dear fellow drivers,
Please do not ‘cruise’ at the speed of 40km/hr when there is a line of cars stacked up behind you.
Try to stay awake – especially if you hear the sound of horns beeping. (One or more)
Do not even ‘think’ of looking at your BB.
Keep your seatbelt ON. (Not around your back)
STOP throwing things out your window. Think of it as throwing it IN not throwing it out- this is YOUR country after all.
Keep all arms and limbs INSIDE the vehicle at all times.
When in a conversation with the person beside you do not gesture around with your arms – it confuses the person behind you.
Make sure both signaling lights work.
Waiting lights are there for a reason; for you to WAIT not PARK (in a 3rd row) and leave your car flashing for an hour.
Don’t DECIDE to make a turn AFTER the actual TURN
If you are at fault – and do not apologize, at least do not blame others for it.
